Flyaway Indoor Skydiving

If you’ve ever wanted the thrill of skydiving but can’t quite make the plunge out of a plane, Pigeon Forge has the next best thing. Flyaway Indoor Skydiving, a staple attraction in the Smokies for years, offers the feel of skydiving within the safe confines of a wind tunnel. Even kids will be able to join in at the first vertical wind tunnel in America.

With professional staff members ready to lead the way, Flyaway Indoor Skydiving is safe, exciting, and a unique way to spend an afternoon in the Great Smoky Mountains. And it’s great for any type of vacation, from family getaways and honeymoons to bachelor weekends and corporate retreats.

And of course, you won’t have to worry about the weather here. Year-round skydiving gives you indoor fun on rainy and snowy days, along with a great opportunity to warm up in winter and cool off in summer. If you’re looking for some indoor fun, this is a really unique attraction you wouldn’t expect to find on the Parkway in Pigeon Forge.

What to Expect at Flyaway
The first priority at Flyaway Indoor Skydiving is safety. You’ll start with a 20-minute training period where the professionals will teach you about safe flying practices, body control, and more. Then they’ll get you suited up with a skydiving suit and helmet. Then, 5 at a time, flyers will head into the wind tunnel with an instructor. The 15-minute session allows flyers to take turns, giving each person about 3 minutes up in the air.

While kids are welcome at Flyaway, there are a few guidelines to follow. In order to ensure their safety, children must be at least 40 lbs and be able to listen well to an instructor. Anyone under 18 must have an adult over 21 with them.

If you’ll be flying, wear comfortable clothes and socks with soft-soled shoes. And if you won’t be flying, you don’t have to miss out on the fun. Head to the observation deck where you can watch the flying! 9Get ready for a fun (and active) afternoon at Flyaway! Just remember that it is an athletic experience, so get ready for a workout!

Groups & Team Building at Flyaway
Between the variety of restaurants, attractions that cater to large groups, large group lodges, and the group facilities in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville, it’s no wonder that so many people choose the Smokies for retreats, reunions, and corporate weekends.

Flyaway Indoor Skydiving can also accommodate groups, offering space for presentations, team-building fun, youth group activities, and more. Groups can even rent the entire facility (call 1.877.293.0639 for rates). Groups can buy single flights for each member, or they can get exclusive use of the tunnel, ensuring no interruptions during a group outing.

Some other great team-building options in the area include The Escape Game Pigeon Forge at The Island, guided tours and retreats with Smoky Mountain Guides, and zipline tours at Smoky Mountain Ziplines. Area dinner shows are also great for corporate outings, as they can accommodate almost any size group.

Personalized Coaching
If you’ve been to Flyaway Indoor Skydiving before, you may be ready to take it up a notch. Try their personalized coaching, where the pros can teach you control and body awareness in the tunnel. They’ll create a program just for you, using video to help you improve upon previous flights.

And if you’re thinking of doing some actual skydiving, training here is a great way to get started. You’ll gain valuable skills and get more comfortable with the flying sensation before taking the leap. It has even been a training space for international skydiving champions!

If you love skydiving…
If indoor skydiving sounds like your idea of fun, there’s much more in store for you in the Great Smoky Mountains. Dollywood is home to tons of exciting rides that will get your heart pumping, the OGO at the Outdoor Gravity Park in Pigeon Forge will send you flying (and splashing) down the hill in a giant orb, and Scenic Helicopter Tours will take you to new heights over the Smokies. You’ll get a thrill racing go karts around one of the many tracks along the Parkway, splash down the river on a whitewater adventure, get a surge of adrenaline as you dash around in a laser tag adventure.

There are so many fun and exciting ways to get your blood pumping in the Smokies, you could spend an entire week here (or more!) and never do the same thing twice. And when you’re ready for a break, we have some beautiful Pigeon Forge cabins that feature amenities to keep you comfortable. Some boast private indoor pools, home theaters, and fully loaded rec rooms, while others offer gorgeous and spacious kitchens, stunning mountain views, and relaxing master suites with jetted tubs.

If you’re looking for something to do that’s a bit more laid back, try a round of miniature golf, games at the arcades, a winery or distillery tasting and tour, games back at the cabin, or a day driving, picnicking, and walking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and nearby Cades Cove. Whether you love thrills, relaxation, food, wine, or the great outdoors, Pigeon Forge has something for you!
